Antonio Borja Won Pat
In our GATE class, we were assigned to do a project on a historical figure that involves making a website about what our historical figure has done & how he/she was outside of politics. My historical figure was Antonio Borja Won Pat and I worked with Taylor Tenorio and Amber Toves. The project took us roughlyabout 3 weeks to actually complete the research and the website. We go to the MARC library and the Agana Library to research on our project. The first time Iwent to the MARC library to research was when we went on a fieldtrip. They gave us so much information on him & we used newspapers that were proberly over90-100 years old! The feeling of that was incredible and you can really see how much the world of technology improved! Well, Antonio Borja Won Pat was the firstdelegate to represent Guam in Washington D.C. and was a well respected man, who fought against all odds. Researching on this project was quite fun, yethard in some kind of way. We found out a whole lot of information, on what he had accomplished, what he fought against and how he was outside of politics.
My group could’ve improved our project in many different ways, but it doesn’t mean we didn’t work hard for this project! One thing I’d like to fix is the legacies page. We didn’t put so much information on what he’s done and what is still going on. He did so much and yet, we didn’t put so much in. Another thing i’d fix is our time line. There wasn’t so much dates and information in it. It didn’t feel quite organized but just all of the place. I would’ve also put an albums page, because it shows proof of what he did to for Guam to have our own government. I’d also put picture albums to show many places he’s been to and how show the most interesting things he’s done.
If I were to do another one of these projects I would choose Gracie. She’s a girl who had an older brother who played the game of soccer and she always dreamed of playing too. Her family and friends always refused her of playing. They were afraid she was going to get hurt, and that it was just a guys sport! Gracie made history! She made girl be able to play soccer. She played and practice through whatever weather to PROVE to everyone that not only guys can play and that she’s good enough! If I did my project on GRACIE then, I believe I could’ve done better. I think that there is more things I CAN FIND out on her because it wasn’t so much in the past and because they also did a movie on her.

G R A C I E B O W E N !
In Journal Entry #13 we had to find a historical figure and 10 websites about it. I choose Gracie because without her, Girls wouldn’t be able to play soccer or wouldn’t be able to prove that not only guys can play the wonderful sport & become even better! The story of Gracie is very interesting. In 1978, Gracie has lost her brother and fights to achieve her dream of playing soccer when girls didn’t EVER exist in the sport. Her father refused to make her play because he said he was afraid she would get hurt. She fought and didnt give up. If it was super hot or extremely cold, Gracie was still outside trying to prove to her dad that she wants to play and that she CAN!

Wild Waves in Washington!
For a group project we had to find the best theme park to go to for a family of four that is on a buget! We looked at Great Wolf Lodge, Wild Waves, Riverfront, and Fun Forest. Fun forest was a pretty good deal because the entrance was only about $4.00 ,but you had to buy tickets which cost about $1.00 per ticket. Each ride was about 2 or 3 tickets. So if a family wanted to have fun then I think that the more rides they ride will proberly be the same amount as the other theme parks! Great Wolf Lodge was the best park ,but BOY it was expensive so of course that parks out! Fun Forest was pretty okay, but the deal wasnt as great as WILD WAVES!
We all choose WILDWAVES because it was the BEST price of all. It was only $79.96 for four people or you can say $19.99 per person. The park looks fun to go to and the water makes me want to SWIM!
There’s rollercoasters ,but i know I wouldn’t ever want to ride them. When I went to Six Flags and rode the rollarcoaster my heart was pounding so hard and the turns and twirls and everything will just scare me! Wild Waves page wasn’t that great ,but the page doesn’t matter to me. The PARK does!

On January 21, 2009 we had an assembly that lasted for 3hrs and 12 minutes about Bullying!
Today, in the assembly they talked about cyberbullying, harassment, and many other things. I just found out earlier today that bullying can be about teasing, showing tongue? calling each other names and other things. I couldn’t believe that showing tongue is bullying, that seems really silly ,but I guess it is. Well, I was going to ask “What if we are just playing around?” ,but there wasn’t many time left. They said that cyberbullying is like pretending to be someone else, texting each other without knowing who the person is and again, many other things!
Well, I also just found out that there was a girl named Meagan Meier who fought with her neighbor, who was like her really good friend.
Well, then she started talking to a boy named “Josh” on MYSPACE!
He was new, and lived near her, but they never met in person.
They started becoming real good friends and she started to assume him as a “boyfriend?” A few days later, “Josh” told Meagan she was ugly, mean a sl–t and other really bad things. Meagan was a hurt and affended badly.
She then, comitted suicide. She hung herself and her dad was the one who found her. Meagan’s dad read the messages on myspace and found out ”Josh” was just someone who was made up. They soon found out that “Josh” was her neighbor’s MOM
Bullying is hurtful, depressing, and very affending! Makes you seem alone and unwanted! People like Meagan suffered alot. Would you want to suffer like Meagan? NO! Stop Bullying especially cyberbullying! Improve ANTI-Bullying buy telling on people who are hurting someone & dont be afraid to report them in. Telling is NOT tattling, It’s helping one another out! Never put emails, give out passwords, give out your age, your school, what you play and what you do & where you go. You can get hurt one way, or ANOTHER.

*This journal is about the ten Digital Camera vocabulary words and how to take good pictures!
When you have a camera, you would need to know how it works. To know what your taking a picture of you look through the view finder. It is
located on the back of a digital camera, or the top of it. When you take a picture of a person, you may see red-eyes! To take them off, there is a button
on the camera. If you want to take pictures close up, then you put your setting on macro. You have to have good exposure to see what is really in the picture.
More things I can tell you is that, when you take pictures, the flash memory saves it and it alows you to delete and reuse as many times as you want. When your taking a picture look around if you see any shadows and if there is then use the fill flash to remove them. When you take a picture where the light is coming foward the camera, which makes the objects dark is called back lit. Some camera’s have an automatic shutter that opens when the camera turns on. If it closed then, open it but try not to brake it! On my camera I use the Memory Stick- Sony. With my old camera I used SD and Smart Media.

My first question for my suvery was, “Do you enjoy school?” I chose that because I wanted to know if they actually enjoy school or not. My second question was, “What is your favorite sport?” I chose that because I love sports and I wanted to see who has intrest with them also. My third question was, “What is your favorite subject?” I chose that question because I wanted to see who likes science like me! What I found intresting about the answers to the questions was that, People are intrested in sports, and some may like school & science. Others didnt mind to answer.
The most intresting survey i’ve done was Reuben’s. I thought that it was so interesting because it was really different from everyones else and was very strange. (Like the question, What is 2+2 and the answer that I chose was a dinorsaur. I think the other one was a fish and four!) He made fun out of our surveys unlike RITANNA’S! Her survey was boring, She said. Well, I also thought that Amber’s survey was intresting because I saw how many people had bars on the window and who wanted bars on their windows. She also asked if they thought she was a stalker, and some said Yes. The survey was funny and if they had made more then, I would love to take them!

October 31, 2008 we had a Halloween dance. The students who didn’t want to go to the dance went to an activity with their team in the classrooms. I went to the dance because I had to help out. Well, I enjoyed the dance. It was very fun yet really hot. The thing that made everyone mad was that the DJ keot talking and then the system heated up so they had to turn it off and cool it down. When the system went back on everyone was happy and they began to yell! Toward the ending they played that song Thriller by Michael Jackson. I started to dance then Anthony, Leahlani and Cory joined me. It was so funny!
Well, I interviewed Ritanna. She said that the dance was very hot and boring! She was wrong, right? Other than that, I had alot of fun. Watching all the students in their costume showed that they had spirit. Some people didnt dress up and I dont know because for a day you can be whoever or whatever you want. To actually get a chance like that, I would take it anyday.

Journal Entry #3
My birthday this year was the greatest! I am officially a teenager. I turned 13. Well, in the morning my mom and dad woke me up together and said, “Happy Birthday!” Well, my sisters also came in an wished me a Happy Birthday also. Well, I had to go to the doctors and the nurses gave me hugs and said, “Happy Birthday!” Well, when I went to school it was already 4th period. When I walked in class, Abigail and Jamie ran up to me, hugged me and said, Happy Birthday! The others yelled it too. Well, when the bell rang for lunch, a whole bunch of people kept running up to me. I recieved two big cards, balloons and a cake from Ritanna, Miara, Jenna and Pia. It was Amazing!
At night time, me and my family went to go an eat at Benii’s! My newphew Zayne was very happy! He kept laughing and smiling the whole night. Well, My sister Tiana walked out and said, “I need to get my phone.” but then, here phone was on the table already. I kept laughing. Well, She came back in with a black plastic bag! She took out a big green party hat and a crown. I had to wear it the whole entire night. Well, when we were leaving, I saw Frank Aguon. The one who was running for senator. He asked me “Is it your birthday?” Then I replied, “Yes!” and he then said, “Happy Birthday!” I really loved this birthday! I could never forget it!!!

The person I interviewed is named Joanne. Were both Crisostomo’s but were not sure if were related! I met her last year, In volleyball season but i didnt know her that well. She is a really cool friend! She is 13 years old. She was born in March. Her favorite color is blue and green & she loves volleyball and basketball.
Joanne’s favorite subject is math. She is the daughter of Thomas & Dorothy. She has absolute no siblings. She doesnt like her hand writing. She likes Cierra as her favorite celebrity. She isnt running for anything. Her favorite thing in life is life itself. She loves her family more. Her nationality is Chamorro, Japanese, Spanish and Chinese. Her bestfriends are Anish, Julio, and Ashlynn. Her favorite teacher is Mr. Chargulaf.
